Anthropic has expanded its Claude for Startups program, offering qualifying companies subsidized access to its AI models alongside tools and technical support.
Announced Tuesday as part of the company’s San Francisco Tech Week event, the updated program aims to help founders use Claude within their teams and build AI-powered products.
Startups Receive Free Claude Team Access and API Credits
The expanded package includes a free year of Claude Team, Anthropic’s paid plan for groups, with up to five premium seats.
Qualifying companies will also receive $1,000 in API credits, providing an initial budget for integrating Claude into their applications and services.
Together, the benefits support two uses of Anthropic’s technology: adopting Claude for internal work and accessing its models through the API to develop customer-facing products.
Marketplace Access and Technical Support Included
Participating startups will gain access to Claude Marketplace, which the announcement describes as allowing companies to build plug-ins for the service.
Founders and developers can also book virtual office hours with Anthropic’s Applied AI team. These sessions add direct technical support to the program’s subscription and API benefits.
The expanded offering gives startups access to both the technology and guidance as they develop applications around Claude.
Anthropic Looks to Strengthen Founder Partnerships
Anthropic said the program reflects its belief that companies building on AI models will play a central role in bringing the technology’s benefits to a wider audience.
The company described close partnerships with founders and developers as central to that effort. By lowering initial access costs and offering technical support, the program seeks to help startups turn model capabilities into products and services.
Who Can Apply for Claude for Startups?
Companies are eligible if they were founded within the past five years or received funding within the past two years.
Interested businesses can submit an application through the Claude for Startups program page.
