Meta is making a broader push into corporate AI with the launch of Meta Enterprise Platform, a new business initiative designed to package its models, agents and infrastructure for companies and developers. Meta announced the move on Monday and named Chirantan “CJ” Desai, who has stepped down as MongoDB’s CEO, to lead it.

Meta Brings Its AI Tools to Businesses

Meta said the platform will initially focus on making its existing AI technology available for business use. That includes Muse, its AI agent, alongside Meta Business Agent, Muse API and Muse Code. The company has yet to detail pricing or a rollout schedule for the enterprise offering.

The initiative follows Meta’s recent launch of Muse as a personal assistant capable of handling tasks for users. With Meta Enterprise Platform, the company is extending that work toward tools organizations can deploy in their own operations.

Desai said the goal is to turn Meta’s AI stack into products and services for businesses. He also said security and privacy are being built into the enterprise products from the outset. The launch could give Meta another way to earn revenue from its substantial AI spending, though its commercial prospects remain to be seen.

Desai’s Departure Triggers MongoDB Leadership Change

Desai will serve as Meta’s chief enterprise platform officer and report directly to Zuckerberg. Before becoming MongoDB’s president and CEO, he held senior roles at Cloudflare and ServiceNow.

MongoDB confirmed that Desai stepped down immediately to take a senior role at Meta. Its board appointed Dev Ittycheria, who led MongoDB from 2014 to 2025, as interim president and CEO while it searches for a permanent successor.
